efforts in documentation

im working real hard on stuff for this project room show on may 17th at tinlark. ill be showing more work in one location than i ever have, so heres to hoping its good. its titled, REAL DEEP THOUGHTS. there is a lot of new stuff that im forbidding myself from posting until closer to the show. i hope everyone will consider coming out.

in more immediate news, i just did this illustration for Nuvo magazine, which is a really beautiful canadian magazine. Sandra Zarkovic was, and has been really wonderful to work with. this is about politicians becoming celebrity-like in current trends. if you know me, you know im not a fan of politics, so it was a priority to have this not be boring.

after several flirts with the new york times, i finally got the opportunity to work for them last week.  this was for an op ed story about spying on your children in last sundays edition.  Brian Rea was great to work with.

i dont know if everyone is familiar with craig atkinson and his cafe royal store and publication, but you should be. they put out a ton of really amazing little books and were nice enough to ask me to be in the second volume of cafe royal. its available here now. its 160 pages with 16 artists. i imagine the math can be done on that… and only the middle image is mine.

hi,  this is a new mostly done painting.  its big. like 4.5 x3.5 feet. and its a bribe for you.

this is something ive never done.  i need your input, or would at least appreciate it.  i need to send out some more postcards for illustration work and i would like to get input for what images people are responding to.  keep in mind this is for illustration jobs, and theyll be sent to magazines.  so if you want to run through the last couple months of posts and tell me what you like best, i think itd be kind of fun.  comments are probably easiest, but you can email me at donttalktocommies@hotmail.com

things are quiet. here is what has happened and will be happening. the shows in denver and philadelphia were successful, from all i can gather in my west coast distance. there was a nice review of the WHITE NOISE show somewhere on the internet, but the internet is a small place, so im sure you can find it if you look close enough. an exciting possibility has been born from that particular show also. should it form into solid matter, ill be sure to tell it here.

my project room show is set for may 17th, at tinlark gallery. ive started a couple giant paintings which are confusing me. Saelee Oh has the main room that night too, so it should be pretty fun. really i only mention this in such advance so that it might explain the future lack of posting, and how i dont want to give everything away before the wedding night. figuratively.

first this is a 6 page teaser comic for rusty jordans book that is in the process of being put together. should be pretty cool. some good friends participating, and matt furie who is unquestionably the best single page comic artist working these days. im excited.

and this is a silkscreen that me and my friend chris did for whiskerino 2008. they are 9×12 in an edition of 200. 20 dollars with shipping and everything included. for the bearded or fans of the bearded. AVAILABLE HERE

hello dear and lovely friends.
new york was fun. even when the subway broke down and i missed my flight home, it was still fun. my good friend mike bertino had a really great show last night at the drawing club. its pretty impossible not to like his drawings.
here are some new and/or better pictures of some of the stuff that will be in the philadelphia show next week. i think i sent 9 in all, and im pretty curious to see how the show looks.
