historically, on this blog, asking for a response doesnt work. several hundred people look, but the only people who say anything are the same 4 or 5 people… god bless them.
so this is the story. i get a lot of people asking about how much a painting costs, and it usually falls through because, like myself, these people don’t have a ton of money to spend on art. i’ve toyed with the idea of making more prints, but thats not really all that fun of a process for me, and im never entirely enthralled by the results.
now, i use a lot of very very low tech printmaking techniques in my paintings which makes them about halfway reproducible, and i got to thinking about doing a very limited series of half prints/half paintings that are each unique and different, but contain the same general imagery.
if there were say… ten, and say they were each …$100 ish, maybe 15×20… would that be worthwhile.
ill probably do it anyways, but response is appreciated as always.

in an attempt at full disclosure, here are a few shirt designs ive done this year.
this is something im still working on. excuse the picture, i took it with my phone.
assuming that most of the people who visit here are in the art field, i thought i would haley joel osment it and give everyone a heads up about the drawing center’s viewing program. if you dont know, the drawing center in new york is a highly regarded, non profit museum that focuses solely on the medium of drawing. so that is already cool. now, or for a little while, they have had a viewing program which is an online curated artist registry where galleries, directors, buyers, people of interest can see your work and you have the possibility of being included in drawing center shows.
it is application based and to get approved or the opposite, it takes a few months. i think its definitely worth the time to do the online application though. so here it is, do it.
